Kathi Goertzen Foundation
Inspire • Hope •
1998, Kathi Goertzen, KOMO News Anchor of 30 years, was diagnosed with an
aggressive, atypical Meningioma brain tumor. She started the foundation in 2011
to inspire brain tumor patients to believe in their own strength through all the
challenges that lie ahead for both themselves and their families. She wanted to
encourage donors, volunteers, and friends of the foundation to support research
for brain tumors and brain cancer.
Kathi believed that courage and faith
fuels your body to live. There is great work taking place and funds being
generated for brain tumor research and the Kathi Goertzen Foundation aims to be
at the forefront of that progress. Kathi endured 14 years of a fight and she
said herself, "My hope is that someday we're going to find a cure and I know
it's around the corner.”
